Hi Kate. No, we are never open on Thanksgiving though we always do a great Thanksgiving special the night before.
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that question.
Just the one.
Delicious brunch food! The wait is not as long as quite a few other brunch places in Asheville. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. Great vegan and vegetarian food. Nice ambience.
Great local vegetarian restaurant. We are locals and went her for the first time. Had the brussel sprouts and enchiladas. Quaint space and quality service. Will go back!
My partner and I split the Blt and cast iron Mac n cheese. It was very tasty! The kids menu is great as well.
Server at the bar was very nice. I was just looking for some small sides of fruit and ginger tea. My wife who had gotten ill on our trip at the hotel really enjoyed it. I picked up a cookie for myself on the way out. Nice local vegetarian friendly place.
The service was good and educated on different diets and allergies. The food was absolutely delicious. A good place for meat alternatives. Catered for just about any type of diet. Overall very impressed with the food. Portions were filling and tasty.
Delicious! So many vegan options! This was our first time there, and during their Sunday brunch. The potatoes were cooked to perfection, the seitan chicken and waffles were so filling and my boyfriend got the Mexican inspired brunch dish, which I will definitely be getting next time. So good! Cant wait to try more next time I'm in Asheville.
Food was great! Be careful if you have mobility issues and are trying to go down the stairs. We were pushed out of the way by a young lady who couldn't wait five seconds to get her tables drink order to the bar. If we had fallen the restaurant would be called "Jason's Seed Cafe". This would have been a 5 star review but one ladies impatience cost 2 stars. Our waitress was fantastic and I'd return just for her. Food - 5 stars / our waitress - 5 stars / impatient waitress from another section - 0 stars.
Superb food, presentation and drinks. Benjamin is one of the best around for cocktails
I’ve been to Laughing Seed a couple of times now and it’s always a great experience! The staff is friendly and the food and atmosphere are wonderful! PLUS they have gluten free and vegan options (which can be difficult!) If you’re ever in the area and feel like some delicious food I cannot recommend Laughing Seed Cafe enough!
This was my second time visiting the restaurant and it was so disappointing. My husband had the butternut squash risotto. It lacked seasoning and flavor. I had the Cast Iron Mac and Cheese. It was a huge disappointment. Not seasoned well and the pasta was WAY over cooked. My son had the jackfruit crab cakes. Also lacking flavor and the crab cakes were fried in old oil. We are visiting from Atlanta and plant based so we are always excited to find a vegetarian or vegan restaurant. This restaurant did not deliver.
I'm not even vegetarian but I really enjoyed the Buddha Bowl and Sweet Potato fries with Jalepenos. No indoor dining but it was a beautiful day to sit outside and eat.
I know a lot of people love it, but I found Laughing Seed underwhelming. There were three of us and we tried a few things off the brunch menu (Sundays only for some reason) - cinnamon buns, chickn and waffles, and a breakfast plate (tofu scramble, potatoes, kale, biscuit and gravy). The food needs an update in 2019. I'm sure the food served here was revolutionary when Laughing Seed first opened, but today the food just tastes flavorless and bland. Biscuit was hard and difficult to eat. Chicken and waffle sandwich was the best thing we had, but nothing mind blowing. I was really expecting more since this place is always touted when talking about the vegan scene in Asheville. We were not impressed. Also the servers have some attitude and not in a good way. Normally I don't comment on service as I just care about the food, but the hostess gave us some attitude when we sat on the patio (apparently we were supposed to go inside to ask to be seated? There was no sign).
And the Curry had me hooked! One of my most favorite meals in Asheville!
Food tastes like trash. Unprofessional service.
This place is always a delight...everyone working here always seem to be happy to be here. They work hard to bring your food expediently, and boy is the food darn good! I'm not a vegetarian but love almost the entire menu.
This is a wonderful vegetarian place! The only problem was too many delicious sounding options on the menu made it hard to choose! The brunch menu is delicious too! We loved the decor and atmosphere. There is a bar also and my friend got a Bloody Mary that he thought was excellent. Nice presentation of everything and friendly wait staff as well!
Great atmosphere. Top notch food. Those of you looking for a great vegetarian meal, this is the place for you. So many great things on the menu it was hard to choose.
Food was fresh and quality was very good, portion size so so for the cost. Paid $40 including tip for vegetarian Ruben sandwich, cauliflower pizza and beer battered okra. No drinks.Outdoor seating is available; bathroom was a bit filthy during my visit.
By far my favorite restaurant to visit when I come to Asheville! Vegan mac n cheese is out of this world. Menu is diverse and delicious!
Good food but took over a half an hour to get it. People after me were being served and the person I was eating with got hers in 10 minutes. One of the staff was a bit rude too, the other was quite nice. I will try it again.
Oh my my! So yummy! The food pictured here is raw vegan....and I'm telling you...amazing! You'll want to get the Dragon Bowl and Zucchini manicotti....the only two raw dishes on the menu...ah yes and the key lime pie is raw vegan as well. So so good.
My wife, Victoria and I, had heard a lot about this place. In fact the Air BnB host we stayed with, Michele, had recommended it.It did not disappoint.Gorgeous interiors, a catchy name, a well-made outdoor patio ideal for summers, polite and professional waitresses, and the best vegan menu I have ever seen outside Florida. The banjo player playing under the tree, only added to our experience here.(They even have an indoor rock climbing place with very reasonable rates across the street, which me and my stepson Sebastian, made full use of!)Verdict: There's no way you're having a complete vegan dining experience in Ashville, if you don't dine at the Laughing Seed Cafe.Period. 😌👍😇
This place is very beautiful with a nice archway and a mural of animals I haven’t eat yet but the looks get a 5 out of 5.
The food was pretty good, with really great fries, and the selection isn't bad. Service was good. I enjoyed the burger (though a little sweet) and my husband liked his sunrise (I think it was) juice.I wish I had gone for something a little more veg heavy instead of a replacement for a traditional meat dish, but that's on me. My five year old was not into the nondairy cheese for the quesadilla, and she found the black beans spicy. The cheese was more of a spread, so thin it was basically like eating a plain tortilla. Honestly, it was fine overall, and I'd try it again when we come back to visit. I'm measuring it against some pretty stiff competition in Asheville.
If you want delicious healthy food, this is the restaurant for you. The menu is full of every type of cuisine to satisfy even the pickiest eater, and when you are done eating a healthy meal be sure to treat yourself to one of their well made drinks.
Delicious vegetarian and vegan food. I had the vegan enchiladas and they were absolutely delicious and so flavorful. The serving sizes were smaller than I expected for the price, but the atmosphere and service made it a great dinner experience. I would go again!
This was our first time eating here. The menu selections are great! We had the harmony bowls. The tempeh was so tasty. It was marinated and tasted great going into my belly. The grilled tofu was ok (first time eating tofu). We also had a pizza and it was good too. Next time we visit Asheville, we will definitely stop here again.
My all time favorite restaurant hands down. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. 5 Stars all the way. For food, service, originality and the fire flies!!!Will be back.
Veg and vegan affair. Drop dead gorgeous plates. Vibrantly delicious food. Everything was packed with flavor and delicious. The bartender came to my table to tell me they were out of a key component of a drink and instead of compromising the integrity of the signature drink, they offered to make me anything else. Such generous portions and such amazing flavor.
if you want a really healthy and veggie friendly meal, this is a great option! I split the veggie bowl with a couple other people and it was definitely what we were in the mood for. the bowl wasn't the BEST thing I've ever had but it was good and I enjoyed it because I was really in the mood for a good clean healthy meal. their sweet potato fries are delicious especially with the Sriracha Mayo, and the MEAD IS SO GOOD I would highly recommend it
The food was amazing! I had the cashew manicotti and it was delicious! We were visiting from out of town and I wish we had one of these in our town! So good!!!
This was my second visit to Laughing Seed. I came back because the first time the food was really good and was even tasty the next day. I got the same thing I did last time which was the vegan Reuben. I am a person who likes a little extra salt on my food, but despite not adding any salt to the dish, it was unbearably salty and the sweet potato chips were also unbearably salty and had so much pepper it was disgusting. I've never heard of putting pepper on sweet potato chips anyway. I don't know if they got new chefs or what but for this reason I will probably not be back and would definitely not recommend
Excellent. I came here on a family vacation which included young children. We ate at the patio area. With great weather and an excellent street musician the experience and atmosphere were top notch. The food was excellent and we were eager to share our choices with each other. Adults and children enjoyed the food and time there. I recommend - well there's so much to love - but the jalapeno and onion french fries were great. But truly, each meal was wonderful - Green Curry, Butternut Risotto, Buffalo Tacos, and Farmer's Pie. Find something with ingredients you enjoy and you won't be disappointed. Last comment, though we were outside the interior was clean and beautiful.
We Absolutely enjoyed our meals and everything was delicious! There were More than enough vegan options for us and even though we were already too full for dessert, lol, those options were also Amazing! 😊👍🏻 The atmosphere was very pleasant, relaxing and many seating options (inside or out) wes quite welcoming and appreciated. Our server was very helpful, pleasant and her knowledge of the vegan options was very nice. We look forward to coming back next time we are in town, Thank you! 😁
Great vegetarian and vegan cuisine with gluten-free options. I love this place and eat here any time I'm in Asheville. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with natural light and earth tones. The staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!
We all enjoyed our food and even a carnivore such as I was able to find a filling meal. The onion soup was on the sweet side. The enchiladas were great. We sat at the bar, so the bartender was also our waiter, and she was a very gracious host.
Belated Birthday Brunch... My mom, sister, daughter and I went to Laughing Seed for lunch. We were all pleasantly surprised! The food was amazing. The jalapeno fries are a must! My daughter is a raw vegan, it was so refreshing to actually eat someplace where we all can enjoy the food. The manicotti pictured below was her choice she loved it!! I'll definitely return..
Love this place. Amazing brunch. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles and the Blue Plate.
I can never understand why vegan restaurants think they have to put hot spice in everything. There are so many good hot sauces in bottles from local entrepreneurs that they could put on the table. You can tell their cooks are not professionally trained. All you taste is gag hot. Not the flavor of the food. And vegan foods has so much flavor. Never again add i have heard this complaint from many.
I wish I could give 10 stars out of 5. The food is one of the best plant-based restaurant food I've had around the country. The ingredients are the highest, freshest fruits and veggies. The menu is diverse. THE BLOODY MARYS ARE THE BEST and FRESHEST I've had anywhere hands down!! They are made in house with excellent ingredients. The setting is a bit casual and sometimes the waitresses have seemed annoyed to answer simple menu questions but that isn't even going to knock my opinion of this amazing place because the food makes up for all of it. The only menu item that wasn't good was the BBQ jackfruit burger-the BBQ sauce was too sour/vinegary. I recommend everything else! We will literally eat here twice+ a day whenever we are in Asheville. The US needs a Laughing Seed in every city please! ❤🍏
Great gluten free vegetarian food, as always. Good service and atmosphere. You wouldn't even know the food is vegetarian it's so freaking awesome. If you're in Asheville, you should really check this place out.And the gluten free bread is out of this world!
This place was such an incredible find. Even though it's advertised as vegetarian, almost everything on the menu could be made vegan. The Ruben was the best Ruben I've ever had, even from before I went vegan. We also had the eggplant Parmigiano and it was excellent. Their peach pie cooler smoothie is really like peach pie in a cup. Delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could try every thing on the menu!! Overall a fantastic experience, and a place everyone, omnivore or vegan, will love.
If you're vegetarian, vegan or gluten free, this is the place you must go! My husband and I were very happy to find something we could enjoy on the menu. Everything tasted great and I was so happy to have a gluten free pizza finally!
Totally loved it. Great Cafe restaurant bar. Very friendly staff and chill atmosphere. Food was amazing and a very diverse selection
Awesome vegan and vegetarian food in a lovely atmosphere! Great for date night. Have never been disappointed after coming here. Menu changes frequently so there's always something new to try. I will never forget the mushroom ramen. Bless. Great cocktails and wine selection, too!
Loved the service! The food was fantastic but still felt nutritious. Ate our meals in one sitting, which never usually happens, but it was too good to take home. We sat outside, but the whole atmosphere of the restaurant was very laid back and relaxed while still feeling upscale as the sun started to set.
This place is absolutely amazing. Vegetarians paradise !! Service was spectacular. Me and my girlfriend stopped here on the way to Tennessee and we are so happy we did. 100% will be back.
Really loved this place and the extensive vegetarian friendly menu. It is a little pricey but that is to be expected with a vegetarian restaurant. The larger portions made up for the price and the atmosphere was wonderful. My mother and I sat on the patio and enjoyed our meal, the day, and the man entertaining on the corner right across the street. I got the summer pasta with pesto and my mother got the burger with chickpea salad. We also both got the soup of the day which was broccoli beer cheese soup. All of it was fantastic! I will definitely visit again on my next visit to Asheville!
Awesome! Got the Raw Spinach Ricotta Manicotti and Hevos Rancheros both delicious. Will be going back for more :)
We had a fabulous dinner at laughing seed cafe. I loved that they offered raw juice and kambucha. They had a decent beer selection as well. We ordered their vegan Mac n cheese and the dragon bowl. Both were absolutely delightful. I could not believe how creamy the Mac n cheese was even though there was no cheese! We will absolutely be back.
